Pick a chick breeds

These Lovely birds were created by crossing Orpingtons with Rhode Island Reds, the result is a phenomenal egg layer. With beautiful iridescent green feathers they are friendly but happiest as free range birds.

"Barnies" have a black and brown arrowhead pattern on their feathers. They lay chocolate brown eggs 3-4 times a week. Even tempered and can even be bullied by more aggressive breeds. 

Cuckoos are quiet gentle birds who enjoy foraging for bugs. Perfect for the backyard chicken flock. They lay approx. 3 eggs a week.

These birds are talkative, friendly but not cuddly and stunning to look at. They are assertive but not bullies. Good egg layers even in winter.

A lovely bird that is calm, intelligent and friendly. Not good flyers, so easily contained. Laying tends to drop in winter months.

This cross breed is similar in  temperament to the Silver but also share qualities of the Cochin-Brown Leghorn. They are great layers even through the winter. They tolerate coops but prefer to forage. 

These are very docile and friendly birds. They love to cuddle and will follow you around the yard. Not big foragers and make a good dual purpose bird. Can be bullied by more aggressive birds.

One of the oldest breeds, they are perfect for your backyard! Great with kids, inquisitive and friendly. They love to forage and will stand their ground with pushier breeds.
